Relax, Relate, Release!

I know I’m dating myself, but I loved A Different World, the NBC spin-off of the Cosby show as a youth in the 90s. Hearing Whitley say, “Relax, Relate, Release!” was something I just adopted even when it was hard for me to relax, relate or release!

Lately, I was starting to think the moon or some cosmic force was having an effect on so many people in my sphere: In my academic world, I had some students freaking out about their grades as the semester nears an end, fellow professors stressed about publication and tenure and general overwhelm… In the coaching world, a more-than-usual amount of clients have been experiencing a sustained sense of overwhelm.

And today! Today, I can’t remember how many times I had to tell someone to BREATHE, whether it was my daughter, one of her teammates, one of the parents of the teammates, or yours truly (uh-huh!) when all was said and done.

So after I got back from dropping off my daughter at one of her friends’ houses for a sleepover this evening, I immediately turned on my recording software and started to speak a meditation around overwhelm and stress. Rather than the usual gregarious tone some of you may have heard in my podcasts (particularly the storytelling one for Six Sigma), my voice is quite even and calm in this audio. There was some irony in my process because of various interruptions and false starts while I was recording. I was so glad when I finally finished my vocals and could move on to mixing the ocean waves and my relaxing music in!

So if you, or someone you know is starting to feel the pinch, or if you just want to do some preventative maintenance, I invite you to get in a quiet place and treat yourself for 14 minutes by downloading the MP3 in this podcast!

About a month ago, Carol Dickson-Carr went into a little more detail about strategic intelligence–one of the four different types of creative intelligence as it applies to the four temperaments within the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®). Listen in she talks about how those with the idealist temperament (intuitive and feeling preferences) use their diplomatic intelligence to get things done. Those of you not naturally inclined to that temperament might want to “try on” the idealist temperament’s approach to creativity and productivity as a stretch goal once you find out more about it!

Here’s what one participant had to say:

“I am so glad I attended this free teleclass. You two clearly know where the Y Generation, comprising 18-30 year-olds, live, breathe, and gather. And, you so generously share your knowledge. I can hardly wait for the Biz Pulse 2008 class, because, as a Baby Boomer, I want to connect with those to whom we are passing the torch. There’s a new social order out there and this teleclass pulled back the curtain. I’m looking forward to the insight and practical knowledge that Biz Pulse 2008 is sure to offer.”

Biz Pulse 2008: Stop Avoiding Risk and Start Embracing It!

The companies of 2008 whose businesses will explode will do it by embracing a very big opportunity…many say, a risk (and you know we LOVE a risk!)

So…what’s the big opportunity and risk that you’re getting ready to EMBRACE?

The power of Web 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0

The Biz Pulse 2008 Program is designed strictly for those of you who know that in a matter of six months, you can radically grow your network and your business through rigor and a dedication to reaching out to 75,000,000 new consumers (Generation Y: 18-30 year old consumers) who are earning $211 billion and spending $175 billion annually.

So…since this generation is earning and spending gobs of money, the question is:

“Why aren’t they spending it with you?”

It might be because you are not using or are afraid to learn the technology they use to communicate with their networks (Facebook, MySpace, Delicious, Twitter, Second Life, Blogging and Vlogging).

This new generation of consumers are deaf to old school marketing techniques. Print advertising, e-mail campaigns, television ads and push marketing bounce off them like bullets off Superman’s chest. They are impermeable to the marketing messages that appealed to their parents and grandparents. Generation Y represents a massive group of influencers — the largest, and the most cutting edge generation in our history. They cut their teeth on technology, grew up with the knowledge they could do anything (because their parents and teachers told them so!). And…they are ready to spend the money they are earning and saving…and we want them to spend it with you!

So…are you ready to take the risk…a risk to grow your business in 2008 by treading into unknown territory? If so, scroll down and start signing up! We look forward to walking on the journey we have traveled in the last six months using Web 2.0 to add 6500 new buyers to our network. We will take you by the hand and walk you step by step by how to do it…and do it successfully so that thousands of new clients are coming your way. This is BIG!
